Hello from the vicar

Hi, I’m Jeb (Jeremy), the vicar at St Matthew’s.  I’ve lived in SK3 since 2000, and have been a vicar since 2019.  Before that, I worked for housing associations around Manchester and Cheshire.  I’ve been married to Nicky since 1997, and we have two daughters who live in Edinburgh and Manchester.

At St Matthew’s, we try to follow Jesus’ teachings and believe his death and resurrection means we can know God for ourselves.  I love to meet with anyone who lives or works in the parish, so if you would enjoy a coffee, have questions about faith, or if there is anything you would like us to pray about, please drop me an email rev.jeremy.beatty@edgeleyandcheadleheath.org.uk .

We are upadating the church website, so please look out for improvements over the coming months.  For the most up-to-date information please follow us on Facebook, click the icon at the top of this page.

Welcome to St Matthew's Church

Everyone is welcome here at St Matthew's Church.

We have a range of Sunday and mid-week worship services, with a mix of both traditional and modern styles of worship.

We have various social groups, inlcuding a Saturday Cafe and Wednesday Welcome, both serving hot drinks and toasted tea cakes and crumpets, all free of charge. We have a very popular Toddle Time group on Friday mornings, and are home to the Socially Yours friendship group. We host a monthly meet up for the Neighbourhood Charity Crafters group and enjoy simple faith based arts with our monthly Creative Time.

We also have a range of other events, including summer and Christmas Fairs, a Community Open Day, and occassional hertiage days. We work closely with our local schools and love to host assemblies and special events for the children.
